AFL Automotive Honored with Ford Motor Company Supplier of the Year–2001
ALLEN PARK, Mich., Nov. 22 /PRNewswire/–AFL Brazil was announced as the winner of the Ford of Brazil's "Supplier of the Year - 2001," Electrical Systems category. AFL was selected to receive one of only 10 awards for both production and non-production material supplier categories. AFL was the only supplier in the Electrical Systems category to receive this honor.
The suppliers were judged by a Ford of Brazil committee made up of members in their Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, and Logistics Departments who selected the best-in-class supplier among all the companies. This recognition was based on the supplier's ability to meet all release schedules, with 100% performance in delivering products and through a single digit defect rate.
Richard Canny, President, Ford of South America presented the award to AFL Brazil's General Manager, Jose Carlos Vieira on November 11, 2002 in Sao Paulo. Mr. Canny said, "Congratulations to AFL for their excellent performance." Mr. Vieira thanked him on behalf of all AFL Brazil employees and briefly spoke of the key performance indicators that lead to winning this award.
