Alcoa is setting up Environmental Park in Tubarão (SC)

The park is being created to provide the community with leisure and educational activities, such as ecological trails, and to promote environmental conservation technologies.

At the end of November representatives from Alcoa visited the communities of São Cristóvão, Sertão dos Corrêas, Sanga do Lageado and Linha Mesquita, in Tubarão (SC) to present the project for the Environmental Park that is being set up in the municipality.
 
With its opening planned for 2012, the parkis being developed with consultancy help being provided by the Wildlife and Environmental Education Research Company (SPVS), an NGO that supports nature conservation projects.Unisul (University of the Southern Santa Catarina) is also a partner in the project.
 
The park is being created to provide the community with leisure and educational activities, such as ecological trails, and to promote environmental conservation technologies. The location covers an area of 12 hectares, of which 85% is native forest, and by 2014 should also receive an Environmental Education Center.
