Alcoa opens 50 positions for engineers

Engineers who graduated between December 2008 and December 2010, in any field of engineering, may apply for these positions.

The period of application for the program New Engineers – Alcoa Latin America and Caribbean goes until March 29. There are 50 positions available, for working in Itapissuma (Pernambuco state), São Luis (Maranhão state), Juriti (Pará state) and Poços de Caldas (Minas Gerais state). The program aims to train professionals to work in various technical areas in the company. Those who are selected will take an 18-month professional development course. Every six weeks, they will undergo training in technical, behavioral and business areas. They will also take part in a mentoring program and will have the opportunity of becoming acquainted with and carrying out projects in other Alcoa sites in Brazil, Jamaica and Surinam. Graduates in any field of Engineering are eligible to apply for the program, subject to having graduated between December 2008 and December 2010. They must also have an intermediate-level knowledge of English (although other languages are also differentials) and an interest in developing a technical career. Besides fixed and variable remuneration, they will be offered benefits such as a private retirement plan; health, dental and life insurance; public transport vouchers or parking; and cafeteria. Once the application period expires, qualitative and quantitative assessments of the applicants will be carried out. This will be followed by interviews based on group dynamics with the selected participants. After this stage, the candidates will be required to take an English test.
