Alcoa, CEBDS and PricewaterhouseCoopers organize global workshop on sustainability

World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) brings ‘Vision 2050, solutions for a sustainable future’ to Brazil

Tomorrow, July 2, Alcoa, the CEBDS (Corporate Council for Sustainable Development) and PricewaterhouseCoopers bring together important business leaders and representatives from other sectors to present their ideas and perceptions about the challenges to and solutions for a sustainable future in 2050. The Vision 2050 workshop is a worldwide initiative of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) for building a sustainable agenda in partnership with private initiative.
“Alcoa’s commitment to sustainability was never as strong and deep. In supporting this event we’re encouraging dialogue about the prospects for Brazil, we’re exchanging experiences and we’re collaborating towards building a sustainable future”, explains Otavio Carvalheira, director of Market Growth and Strategy for Alcoa.
According to Nemércio Nogueira, director of Institutional Affairs for Alcoa Latin America and the Caribbean, this type of initiative broadens debate in Brazil and fosters new ideas. “Alcoa’s agenda for sustainability is permanently under construction. The conservation of natural resources and biodiversity and the environmental management of waste, effluents and emissions are strategic themes for the Company and demonstrate Alcoa’s commitment to current and future generations”, he concludes.
