Alumar is recognized for its good practices in occupational health and safety by Proteção magazine in five categories

The Consortium is the first to win half the awards in the same edition

Alumar (Aluminum Consortium of Maranhão), which is managed by Alcoa, has just been recognized in five categories for its good practices in occupational health and safety (SST), with the Proteção Brasil 2009 [Protection Brazil 2009] prize, from Proteção magazine, which specializes in industrial safety. The recognition was given for the work done during the Alumar refinery expansion in São Luís (MA).

“This type of recognition shows our commitment to and constant search for a working environment and life that are incident-free. It’s a victory for all our employees and definite approval for our integrated management system”, explains Domingos Campos, the regional manager for health, safety and environment for Alcoa.
