Alcoa sponsors the Ethos International Conference 2009

Alcoa is also taking part in the program RSE [Corporate Social Responsibility] in the Media: Companies and the Press, which brings together company communications personnel and journalists to debate the issues causing dilemmas and discuss the opportunities that exist in their relationship.

Alcoa is the sponsor of the Ethos International Conference 2009 that takes place between June 15 and 18 in the Hotel Transamerica in São Paulo. The event is promoted by the Ethos Institute of Companies and Social Responsibility and produced by UniEthos – Education for Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development, in partnership with the Akatu Institute for Conscientious Consumption, Our Sao Paulo Movement, the Brazilian Global Pact Network and São Paulo Turismo.

“Supporting the Ethos Institute conference has become an Alcoa tradition, a commitment to sustainable development. In this scenario of global crisis, a meeting of international representatives to debate matters linked to sustainability is contributing to society overcoming many of the challenges of this worldwide crisis, by dealing with themes like social justice, environmental responsibility and - why not economic success?”, says Franklin L. Feder, president of Alcoa Latin America and the Caribbean.
