Company wins Top Marcas award for the fifth consecutive year, based on a survey conducted by Arco Editorial, the firm that publishes the Projeto Design magazine and runs the Arcoweb website

Alcoa has won the Top Marcas (Top Brands) 2009 award, organized by Arco Editorial, in the Metal Framing Systems and Cladding categories. It is the fifth consecutive year in which Alcoa has featured as one of the most recognized brands in this award.
Between October 20 and December 3, 2008, architects, students, designers, engineers, decorators, building technicians, project engineers, teachers and landscape artists from across Brazil participated in the Top of Mind survey on the Arcoweb website, in which they spontaneously mentioned the first brand name that came to mind. The 3,655 valid answers resulted in 65 winning brands, divided into 21 categories.
The civil construction market stands out because of the large amounts of aluminum used in framing and cladding. The metal enhances projects, adding modernity, beauty and security to the most adventurous and distinctive of buildings.
Alcoa produces aluminum framing systems for residential and commercial buildings at its Extrusions Division, where it is the market leader for the civil construction industry. It makes a number of different products for manufacturing doors, windows, railings and gates, which are used in building projects with a variety of features and price ranges. One of Alcoa’s most recent product launches for this industry is the Unica line of frames, designed by the renowned Brazilian architect Ruy Ohtake.
Additionally, Alcoa develops aluminum cladding for use in commercial and industrial building projects. One such product is the Reynobond ACM (Aluminum Composite Material) panel that meets all internal and external architectural specifications.
About Alcoa Alcoa is the world leader in the production and management of primary aluminum, fabricated aluminum and alumina combined, through its active and growing participation in all major aspects of the industry. Alcoa serves the aerospace, automotive, packaging, building and construction, commercial transportation and industrial markets, bringing design, engineering, production and other capabilities of Alcoa's businesses to customers.
