Council for a Sustainable Juruti
The Evandro Chagas Institute, a public institution and a research reference relating to health in the Amazon, with it’s head office in Belém-PA, it is developing research in the Juruti-PA region, through a convention with Alcoa. 

The partnership is part of a series of actions that the Company has developed to improve the quality of life and the practice of sustainable development in the area, where the Company has a mining venture.

Three areas of action are highlighted with this partnership: control of endemic diseases; the epidemiology of infectious diseases and the training of technicians from the Juruti Municipal Health department in the diagnosis and control of infectious diseases, Because of this, the Company invested in the construction of a research laboratory for the Juruti Municipal Health department.
