Infrastructure

In terms of infrastructure, the company have also effectively made its contribution, based on resources addressed to constructions elected directly  by local residents, following two fundamental conditions: be in accordance with the amount budgeted by the company and proven conditions  to provide collective benefits.

In December of 2004, Baesa established an agreement with Ibama, Federal Public Ministry, General Federal Advocacy, and Environmental and Mines and Power Ministries, aiming to forward native wood taken from the area inundated by the plant’s reservoir to rural families that live around the reservoir.

The delivery process started in 2005, with the distribution of kits by the company, with exact dimensions for the construction of basic houses of 64 square meters each. The remaining of the wood will fund the suppression of trees in the selective areas and the improvement of lumbers in kit formats.

Public safety also interests Baesa. For that reason, the company built a new Military Police headquarter station in Anita Garibaldi (SC), as well as the residential unit designated to city / municipal district police commander. Constructions ended in 2005 and will handle the 2nd  Platoon of the 2nd  Company of the 6th Battalion of Military Police.

With the new headquarter, police will enjoy an adequate site to perform its job, improving its performance and properly meet the population’s demands.

In addition, the company delivered a vehicle to Anita Garibaldi police, transferred resources for an event promoted by Lages city Civil Police and is building a headquarter station for the Environmental Police of Lages. Other cities, located in Rio Grande do Sul, will also receive investments in this areas, like Pinhal da Serra, Esmeralda, Vacaria and Caxias do Sul.
