Valuing the environment 

For BAESA it is important to ally activities that bring about improvements in the quality of life of the local population and that value the environment with the aim of promoting socio-economic development in the region where the company is located.

Based on these premises BAESA has been working to preserve the natural wealth found in the areas surrounding the power station in the states of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. This can be measured by the environmentally-focused activities of 18 of the 26 programs in the Basic Environmental Project (PBA).

Activities are based on ethics and the development of the professionals who have been hired to work in the environmental area, as well as in permanent actions that are being monitored and supervised by environmental agencies, a fact that lends the work a large degree of credibility. Sustainable development is the Company’s main target and this will be achieved through the efforts of the company and the population, which is increasingly more conscious and well informed about the rational use of natural resources, thus ensuring preservation of the environment and harmonious coexistence with nature.
