Alcoa Institute Created in 1990, the Alcoa Institute has the main goal of improving life conditions in the communities where the Company and its subsidiaries operate. Through social programs and donations from the group’s companies, as well as additional funds from the Alcoa Foundation, the Institute funds projects that meet the needs of the communities.
Mission The Alcoa Institute is a secular, apolitical, non-profit entity organized under the business law for cultural and social purposes. The Institute’s mission is to improve the quality of life in the communities where Alcoa Alumínio and its subsidiaries operate by investing funds to conduct activities predominantly in the fields of education, health, environment, and social welfare.
