Instituto Alcoa makes donation to public security area
Funds will be used for prevention and education projects of the uniformed and criminal police forces
Another two important community projects, in which the Instituto Alcoa is a partner, will benefit the Poços de Caldas and region community in the public security area. The funds for the projects were officially donated on August 19 during a ceremony held in the headquarters of the 29th Uniformed Police Battalion (BPM), in the presence of representatives from Alcoa, the uniformed and criminal police and Consep (Public Security Council). Alcoa was represented by Og Bernardi, the Operations Director of the Alcoa unit in Poços de Caldas, and Mônica M. Frison, the company’s Institutional Affairs Supervisor.
The uniformed police were represented by Col. Edilson Ivair Costa, Commander of the 18th Region, Lt. Col. Diovany Ribeiro, Commander of the 29th Battalion, and Major Frederico Antônio de Lima, Assistant Commander of the 29th Battalion. The criminal police were represented by Regional Officer Dr. Gustavo Henrique Manzoli, and Consep, by Lt. João Carlos da Silva and Luciana Amadeu.
In expressing his thanks, Lt. Col. Diovany talked about the relevance of the partnership with Alcoa in these projects. “This shows just how important the company is, not only for the city but also for the whole region”, he stressed.
Regional Officer, Dr. Gustavo, also thanked the partnership and talked about the benefits of investments in public security projects.
“Being able to contribute once again to the community in Poços de Caldas is a reason for us to be very happy, especially when it’s for projects aimed at prevention and education”, emphasized Og M. Bernardi, Operations Director.
In all R$ 57,584,00 was donated in the name of Consep, which will benefit Proerd (Drug and Violence Resistance Program), which has been a uniformed police initiative since 2003 with 5th to 9th year elementary school students, and an important criminal police project.
