Alcoa is among The Best Companies to Start a Career With, 2013

The organizational climate survey is the only one in the world aimed exclusively at the young

Alcoa, for the second consecutive year, was one of the companies included in Você S/A’s Guide – The Best Companies to Start a Career With, 2013, from Você S/A magazine. The Guide is a pioneering project by Editora Abril [publishing house] in partnership with Cia. de Talentos and the Fundação Instituto de Administração (FIA) [Institute of Administration Foundation].

“This award is very special for Alcoa, because it reflects the company’s initiatives on behalf of the future of our young talent. Alcoa seeks to motivate these professionals so they build a successful career in the company”, emphasizes Vânia Akabane, Human Resources director for Alcoa Latin America & the Caribbean. The award ceremony took place on Thursday evening, May, 2, and paid tribute to the 35 companies considered to be the best companies in which to start a career.

This is the only organizational survey in the world directed exclusively at young people and that evaluates the work environment and people management practices and policies for these particular professionals.

The companies that were classified replied to a questionnaire and some of their employees were randomly selected by the publication to reply to a survey and take part in focus groups. After analyzing the content, the publication attributed a final mark to the companies, entitled the Young People’s Happiness Index, which comprises three indicators: the employee’s perception of the company; the quality and consistency of the company’s personnel management practices and the publication team’s mark.
