Alcoa’s fastening systems are much more than just nuts and bolts. The division produces advanced mechanical fastening systems for the aerospace industry and industrial market, which go to make up the high performance equipment and fasteners that are used for mechanically binding mainly metallic materials.
The fasteners substitute the welding process and offer advantages over it. This type of system is used when definitive fastening is necessary for providing enhanced reliability under conditions of extreme vibration and resistance; such is the case with aircraft, which use advanced fastening systems.
Alcoa develops and supplies advanced fasteners for the aerospace industry and the industrial market. This division was created through the merger of Huck Fasteners and Fairchild Fasteners, which were acquired by Alcoa in the United States in 2002.
