Alcoa has a complete line of alumina oxides and hydroxides that are produced under strict quality control conditions, using the most advanced technology in the sector.
Alumina hydrates or aluminum hydroxide
Alumina hydrate is a synthetic material that is extremely pure and highly consistent in chemical and particle size terms. It is used in the manufacture of waterproofing materials, flame retardants and smoke suppressants, among other applications.
Aluminum hydroxide is produced industrially by dissolving caustic soda and recrystallizing gibbsite, a mineral found in bauxite. Its particles are made up of agglomerates of primary crystals, which are formed during the recrystallization stage.
