In 1986, through the acquisition of Alumínios do Sul S/A (Alusud) – a company engaged in founding, manufacturing and surface finishing aluminum profiles – Alcoa entered Tubarão, in the south of Santa Catarina State.
The unit supplies products for civil construction and for the furniture, automotive, and metal and mechanical industries, in the fields of extrusion and anodization. It has approximately 500 employees.
