Your Security

How much insurance do I need?

Ask yourself:

If I should die or become disabled, what financial obligations would I have?

What debts or other liabilities do I have?

What other sources of potential income would my family have (personal life insurance policies, pension, savings, etc.)?

During enrollment, you can use UPoint’s Life Insurance Estimator to help calculate your need.

Providing financial security: Life and disability benefits

If you were unable to work due to a disability or you died, could your family survive financially?

Many families do not have the resources to replace the income of a disabled or deceased member. That’s why Alcoa automatically enrolls you in:

Employee Life Insurance

Alcoa provides you with a level of term life insurance at no cost to you. You can also elect additional life insurance for yourself, your spouse or domestic partner, and your dependent children.

Employee Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance

The Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) plan pays a benefit if you die or are dismembered as the result of an accident. In the event of death, this benefit is payable in addition to any life insurance coverage you have.

Disability Coverage

Income during disability is important. Alcoa offers disability coverage to all full-time employees.

Business Travel AD&D

Alcoa provides Business Travel Accident insurance at no cost to you. This coverage is automatic and no enrollment is required. Business Travel Accident Insurance pays a benefit if you die accidentally or suffer the loss of certain faculties while you are traveling on authorized company business, including travel from one Alcoa work location to another.
