Lancaster is Alcoa's lead plant for brazing sheet production, producing more brazing sheet than any other aluminum plant in North America (~50,000 mT/yr). We produce brazing sheet used by auto manufacturers to make every major heat exchanger component, including evaporator, heater core, radiator and condenser components.
Lancaster Works specializes in aluminum sheet and cast plate. At our 1.3 million square-foot plant, we offer a variety of products--from painted sheet to blanked products. What we produce here is found in a wide assortment of end products, such as truck cabs, cookware and construction materials. With such diversity in products, Lancaster Works has considerable internal production capabilities.
Lancaster is also the home of the Heat Exchanger Material Technical Center (HXTC), the main research and development facility for Alcoa's brazing sheet. The HXTC is a world-class facility, staffed with engineers soley dedicated to the development of brazing sheet and extrusions for heat exchanger applications.
