Sharpe opening at Lark Hill

Nathan Sharpe, Western Force captain spent a day in Rockingham and joined the Rockingham Rugby Union Football Club as they kicked off the 2008 season at their new Lark Hill home ground and club rooms on 5 April.

The day marked the beginning of a new era for the club, said club president Ashley Sewell, it was a treat for both junior and senior players, and our spectators to meet Nathan.

“Alcoa was also part of the day’s events due to their generous donation of our new aluminium goal posts which were only installed the day before our first home game!

“For many years Alcoa employees have played a big role in our club, both as players and as members.  It is very impressive that Alcoa has been able to support their employees’ and the community in this way.”

Environment and Community Relations manager Lance Whitewood, said, it is fantastic to see such a strong rugby community in Rockingham, and I am really pleased that Alcoa could help the sport develop at this great new facility.
