Independent Review of Anglesea River

An independent review coordinated by Department of Sustainability and Environment is underway to investigate sources of poor water quality in the Anglesea River.

Alcoa of Australia has operated the Anglesea Power Station since 1969 in line with stringent environmental standards. The operation’s environment management system is accredited to ISO14001 and is NATA Accredited for water sampling and analysis.
Alcoa will be making a full submission in line with the terms of reference. Alcoa resources, monitoring data and relevant studies will be fully available to the independent review process as required.
The company remains confident of its continuing safe operations for the environment and the community, and looks forward to the findings of the independent review.
