Project remains on track

The construction of Portland Aluminium’s new Green Mill Fume Treatment System remains on track.

This week, Keppel Prince Engineering’s largest crane, a 200-tonne capacity Terex mobile crane, placed the 28 tonne pre-assembled baghouse module onto its frame at a height of 31m metres.

Portland Aluminium Operations Manager John Osborne said the work remains on schedule to commence commissioning by the end of the year.

“The treatment plant is one of very few key capital works projects we will be implementing this year due to the global financial crisis and will play an important role in our aim to continue to reduce our emissions,” Mr Osborne said.
