Alcoa Point Henry considering options to ensure sustainability

Discussions on the range of options for Alcoa’s Point Henry Smelter to rapidly address and minimise the growing impacts of the global financial crisis were discussed with union stakeholders today.

Although there is the potential for a reduction in employee numbers no decisions have been made at this stage.
It is the intention of the company to continue its discussions with unions and engage with employees as we further consider the most effective options to remain competitive and sustainable during these difficult market conditions.
