African Women’s Dinner Dance a fusion of music and colour

Cabra-vale RSL was alive with music, dance and colour at the annual African Women’s Dinner Dance on Saturday, 30 May. Over 300 guests attended the evening and enjoyed great entertainment and food and a chance to celebrate African culture with a theme of 'Love, Peace, Unity and Togetherness'.

The event was organised by the African Women’s group of NSW and Alcoa Rolled Products Yennora sponsored the night, providing volunteer help for the second year running.

John Costley, site manager of Alcoa Rolled Products Yennora, said the evening was a celebration of African culture and Alcoa was pleased to be a supporter, providing volunteers and joining in the celebrations.

"The event is a great opportunity for our female staff to learn more about African cultures. The night helps foster diversity and respect, values Alcoa encourage with all our employees,” said John.

There are over 400 African women in NSW, most of whom live in western Sydney.
