Alcoa says thankyou to Timehelp volunteers

Timehelp is a volunteer support group for retired people working with Western Sydney primary and high schools. Timehelp volunteers recently spent the afternoon at Yennora learning about Alcoa’s business and enjoying an afternoon tea.

The Alcoa Foundation provides vital funding for this group. Originally Alcoa helped set up Timehelp with the idea of finding volunteer opportunities for retired staff. Timehelp now has 25 dedicated people working with Holroyd Council where they do an amazing job helping out in the local schools in this area.

Alcoa Yennora recently hosted the Timehelp Western Sydney group to the site taking them on a site tour and giving them an update on our recycling operation.

In his speech, Thegie Moodley said “your work in our local community is greatly appreciated, Alcoa Yennora has been a part of the local landscape for over 30 years as an employer and supporter of the community in which it operates. We’d like to take this site to the next level in developing our recycling operation and being an innovator in can recycling and bringing to reality the 100% recycled can.”
