Alcoa Anglesea encourages community to engage

Alcoa Anglesea Power Station is inviting local residents, businesses, and community groups to become involved in its community engagement program.

The process began this week with the launch of ‘Alcoa Anglesea News,’ a newsletter which has been posted to all ratepayers in Anglesea.  The newsletter aims to inform the community of key projects and activities being undertaken at the power station and increase community participation in its consultation and engagement opportunities.

Acting Anglesea Power Station Manager, Mr Chris Rolland said that the new program was designed to build on the existing consultation and engagement forums undertaken by Alcoa Anglesea.

“Robust community consultation and engagement are critical to the success of our Anglesea business, and over a number of years we have built up strong relationships with the local community through a range of initiatives such as the Community Consultation Network, site tours and our community partnerships program,” Mr Rolland said.

“Through the newsletter, we hope to further engage with our local stakeholders and provide even more opportunity to become informed about different areas of our operations.”

Community members can elect to continue receiving Alcoa Anglesea News, as well as receiving environmental reports, taking a tour of the power station or joining a community forum.
