Update on Point Henry's Carbon Bake Upgrade

As previously reported Alcoa Point Henry’s $89m carbon bake upgrade was completed on schedule and commissioning commenced on 2 November.
On Thursday 31st January two unplanned scrubber outages occurred, the first lasting for 5 minutes and the second 17 minutes.
The scrubber first went into bypass when it detected insufficient gas outlet flow through the filters and the second bypass occurred as changes were being made to correct the initial problem.
Both issues were rectified immediately, with appropriate corrective actions implemented.
The Victorian EPA has been advised of both of these matters.
