You might remember that back in 2008 Alcoa formed an agreement with Latent Petroleum to explore for tight gas in the Perth basin. Last year we funded the first stage of drilling work and, encouraged with the phase one results, we have now committed to the next phase of drilling and seismic modelling. As a large energy user, we remain committed to playing our part in finding solutions toward a secure energy future for all. If this project is successful, the Warro gas field will become another valuable source of energy to the WA community and, of course, supply part of Alcoa’s gas needs. Alcoa’s global Month of Service is fast approaching, but I’m proud to say our people make a difference in their communities all year round. We showcase just a couple of examples in this edition - Anglesea employees have given a local playgroup a makeover, while our people from Point Henry have been lending a hand to the Salvation Army.
