message from alan cransberg, managing director, alcoa of australia

This month we’ve launched our Sustainability Reporting 08 which is available online, please take a look.  It details our achievements in relation to key issues such as climate change, innovation and growth, water, environmental custodianship, our people and our communities.  While the latter part of 08 will be remembered for economic upheaval (we are not going to forget this downturn for a while!), our Report shows that through these challenging times people really can achieve great things.

As Alcoa continues to manage costs for our long term sustainability, let me take this opportunity to assure you that we will continue with our consultative approach to find solutions, talking regularly with our employees, Government, communities, unions and suppliers. Of course I will keep you informed too - stay in touch with how we are managing through the economic downturn at www.alcoa.com.au/economicdownturn
