Vacation Student Opportunities WA 2008- 2009
We are seeking students with a strong academic record, initiative, ambition, energy and team orientation for our 2008/2009 Vacation Student Program. As an Alcoa Vacation Student, you will participate in a 12 week program specifically designed to optimise your exposure and practical experience in your chosen discipline. Alcoa’s environment fosters communication, involvement, knowledge-sharing and teamwork which ensures we maximise your full learning potential and the company’s success at the same time. You will be working alongside a mentor and manager to assist and coach you through selected projects and ensure you gain the hands on experience you are looking for. There are many opportunities and benefits that can be enjoyed whilst you are a Vacation Student at Alcoa. We offer a range of Vacation Programs for students in a variety of disciplines. The following disciplines are traditionally available at our WA Refineries and Corporate and Regional Office. Eligibility To be eligible for the Alcoa Vacation Program, it is preferable that you are in your penultimate year of a relevant undergraduate university degree. Alcoa’s vacation student employment program is designed to support university students studying and residing locally to our Western Australian or Victorian operations. The vacation program is designed to give students knowledge and skills to build on their experience. Students must be available to commence vacation employment on the 24th November 2008 for a duration of 12 weeks. Locations Booragoon is located 10km south of the Perth CBD. Peel Regional Office is located 90km inland south of Perth Kwinana Refinery is situated on the coast 35km south of Perth. Huntly Mine site is located 117km south of Perth in the Darling Ranges. Pinjarra Refinery is located 90km inland south of Perth. Wagerup Refinery is located in a rural environment at the base of the Darling Scarp, and is 130km south of Perth.
