2009 partnership budget closed
The global financial crisis has impacted Alcoa as it has everyone, and in an endeavour to maintain a sustainable business, we have reduced spend across the business. As a result, Point Henry’s partnerships budget for 2009 has now been fully committed and we are not accepting any further proposals for local partnerships. While this temporarily prohibits us from engaging in any new partnership agreements, it does not mean a reduced commitment to supporting our communities. In 2009, we are partnering with 50 local organisations including our major partners; the Geelong Performing Arts Centre, Geelong Regional Vocational Education Council, Greening Australia, United Way, BacLinks, Geelong Cats, Barwon Water and the Whittington Community Renewal Project. We will also continue to support employees who volunteer in their own time through our Bravo! program. The Bravo! program recognises individual Alcoa employees who spend a minimum of 50 hours per calendar year doing volunteer work for an approved nonprofit/non-governmental organisation. In recognition of the employee's effort, the Alcoa Foundation will make a contribution of US$250 to the nonprofit organisation. We wish you every success with your search for support. For further information please contact: Joanne Forssman Tel: 03 5245 1406 Email: joanne.forssman@alcoa.com.au
