Community Consultation
Alcoa is the world’s leading producer of primary and fabricated aluminum, as well as the world’s largest miner of bauxite and refiner of alumina. In addition to inventing the modern-day aluminum industry, Alcoa innovation has been behind major milestones in the aerospace, automotive, packaging, building and construction, commercial transportation, consumer electronics and industrial markets over the past 125 years.

Alcoa is committed to building capacity within our own operations and the communities in which we work to create sustainable operations and sustainable and stronger communities with a shared future.

Stronger communities create opportunities for people and organizations to work together to bring about economic, social and environmental benefits for us all.

For the plant to achieve its aims, it is essential that we consult with the community.

Community Advisory Board
The Community Advisory Board (CAB) is a consultative group made up of representatives from the local community, industry neighbors, environment groups and the EPA.

Established in 2001, the CAB creates a forum for two-way communication between the smelter and the broader community regarding issues that both Alcoa Point Henry and the Greater Geelong community can work on together.

The CAB meets bi-monthly on a Monday evening in Geelong.

For more information on the Community Advisory Board or to express your interest in participating, contact the plant’s Community Relations Officer on +61 3 5245 1406.
