Alcoa is proud to have been a part of the Geelong community since 1963.  After 51 years of operation, Alcoa made the difficult decision to close its Point Henry operations.  The smelter ceased operation on 1 August 2014 and the rolling mill closed on 19 December 2014.

The decommissioning and rehabilitation of the Point Henry site has begun. Alcoa’s strong commitment to its values of health, safety and environmental management are key priorities of this project.
