Community Partnerships
Each year Alcoa’s Pinjarra Refinery contributes financially to communities within its operational area.
These contributions are distributed to communities across Alcoa’s Areas of Excellence, which cover:
- Safe and healthy children and families
- Future Leaders of Industry
- Arts for Life
- Conservation and Sustainability
- Sustainable Communities
- Volunteers for Life
In addition to these contributions, Alcoa employees have the opportunity to raise funds for an organisation or group which they are associated with, through volunteering with the company’s Bravo! and ACTION programmes.
Pinjarra Refinery employees also participate in a 5S Housekeeping Competition throughout the year whereby they raise funds for a nominated community organisation based on criteria that is designed to improve safety in the workplace. Ten Operating Centres are participating in 2009 which will see 10 local organisations receiving a contribution towards the end of 2009.
