Community Partnerships
Each year Alcoa’s Pinjarra Refinery contributes financially to communities within its operational area, which includes Pinjarra, Mandurah and Coolup.

These contributions are distributed to support community initiatives within the following key categories:
  • Sustainable Environment
  • Community Health and Safety
  • Community Capacity and Resilience
  • Tomorrow’s Workforce and Leaders
Two community partnership funding rounds are held every year. Community groups are encouraged to complete an application form while each round is open.
Currently the April/May 2016 round has been postponed until October/November 2016.
In addition to Alcoa’s Community Partnerships program, Alcoa employees have the opportunity to raise funds for an organisation or group they are associated with through the company’s ACTION (Alcoans Coming Together in our Neighbourhoods) and AIM (Alcoan’s in Motion) employee volunteer programs.
Employees also volunteer their time during Alcoa’s annual Month of Service program. Each October, groups of employees help not for profit groups with tasks such as gardening, painting, filing and maintenance work, to name a few.
