How We Do Business
Two factors stand out in how we do business around the globe:
 
  • Safety is a core value and our highest priority. Our policy is to operate worldwide in a safe, responsible manner, that respects the environment and the health of our employees, customers, and the communities where we operate. We will not compromise environmental, health, or safety values for profit or production.

  • We manage our business through the Alcoa Business System (ABS), a set of principles and tools that focuses on serving customers, increasing productivity, and eliminating waste. ABS has helped us improve cost, quality, and speed—we believe its potential is limitless.

Our work climate fosters diversity, open communication and continuous learning, community involvement, and work/ life balance.

As part of our strategy to achieve an inclusive work environment - in which all employees are respected, valued, and able to contribute - we have several company-wide employee resource groups including:

  • Alcoa Women's Network.
  • EAGLE (Employees at Alcoa for Gay & Lesbian Equality).

Each group provides information and resources, a support network, and various activities. We expect other employee resource groups to develop in the future.
