Greening Australia For more than two decades Alcoa and Greening Australia have worked together to improve and restore the Australian environment. As a result, over 10 million trees have been planted and thousands of hectares of degraded land rehabilitated. Through the River Recovery program , Alcoa is partnering Greening Australia to bring our rivers back to life. Make an Impact is the latest initiative of the partnership and hopes to provide Alcoa employees with the tools to address climate change at home. Australian Greenhouse Office The Make an Impact program is supported by the Australian Greenhouse Office and the Greenhouse Challenge Plus program, of which Alcoa is a member. National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS) The greenhouse calculator used as part of the Make an Impact program has been developed by the National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS). NABERS is a national initiative managed by the Department of Energy, Utilities and Sustainability (DEUS) . Make an Impact in The Plus Factor The Plus Factor is the official magazine of the Greenhouse Challenge Plus. The September 2006 edition featured a story on Make an Impact. AGO - Your Home Your Home is a suite of consumer and technical guide materials and tools developed by the Australian Greenhouse Office to encourage the design, construction or renovation of homes to be comfortable, healthy and more environmentally sustainable. Environmental Protection Agency Victoria Environment Protection Authority Victoria's purpose is to protect, care for and improve the environment. The EPA Victoria has supported the development of the Make an Impact program.
