Greening Australia
For more than two decades Alcoa and Greening Australia have worked together to improve and restore the Australian environment. As a result, over 10 million trees have been planted and thousands of hectares of degraded land rehabilitated. Through the River Recovery program , Alcoa is partnering Greening Australia to bring our rivers back to life. Make an Impact is the latest initiative of the partnership and hopes to provide Alcoa employees with the tools to address climate change at home.
Australian Greenhouse Office
The Make an Impact program is supported by the Australian Greenhouse Office and the Greenhouse Challenge Plus program, of which Alcoa is a member.
National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS)
The greenhouse calculator used as part of the Make an Impact program has been developed by the National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS). NABERS is a national initiative managed by the Department of Energy, Utilities and Sustainability (DEUS) .
