Long Term Residue Management Strategy
Alcoa has a Long Term Residue Management Strategy (LTRMS) for each refinery. These are designed to inform both government and community about Alcoa’s long term residue planning and management strategies including:
- the location of future residue drying areas;
- the proposed final land form for the residue drying areas; and
- how environmental risks associated with residue storage will be managed.
The LTRMS also addresses current plans for closure of the residue areas, future land use options for the residue areas after closure and current research into residue management and reuse. To read the Long Term Residue Management Strategies, click here .
