Carbon capture for clean air Alcoa’s Carbon Capture system, developed by the global Technology Delivery Group (TDG) was awarded for its leadership in clean air technology, when it was presented the Clean Air award by the Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand (CASANZ) recently. Carbon Capture Technology delivers significant greenhouse benefits by locking up CO2 that is otherwise released into the atmosphere. More on page 5 of alcoaNews... Alcoa volunteers help burn survivors on the road to recovery The KIDS Foundation's annual burns survivor camp took place on Queensland's Gold Coast from 30 November to 3 December 2007 and for the third year running, Alcoa Point Henry, Anglesea and Portland Aluminium employees played a major role in making the camp happen simply by working safely. Future industry in the hands of women Sixteen local young women are now a step closer to realising their future career potential with the culmination of the Alcoa Future Women of Industry Scholarship for 2007. The programme, in its seventh year at the Pinjarra Refinery, has introduced 95 young women to areas of industry they may not have previously considered. More on page 27 of alcoaNews... Dash and Concorde fly the coop Alcoa Anglesea has recorded another successful breeding season with the two Peregrine Falcon chicks born last year now off exploring the big wild world. The Peregrine Falcon webcam will be off line until the next breeding season in mid 2008. More on page 22-23 of Points & Angles...
