Employee Health & Wellbeing
Alcoa constantly strives to meet and exceed corporate and community expectations relating to health and safety.  We work safely, promote wellness, and protect the environment.

As part of these efforts, Alcoa has developed comprehensive health programs for its employees which are continuously reviewed and updated.

Alcoa’s health and wellbeing programs have a strong focus on preventing health issues amongst our employees.

We continue to use initiatives that lead to a healthier workforce including health risk reduction programs, medical screenings and employee assistance programs.

There are several elements to Alcoa’s Health and Wellbeing Program including:

Occupational Health Systems at Alcoa of Australia – Presentation by Chief Medical Officer Dr Michael Donoghue

Community Health & Wellbeing
Alcoa’s operations are safe for both employees and neighboring communities and our values will not allow us to operate any other way.

Alcoa's interaction with the environment and communities in which we operate is crucial to the success of our business.  We continually monitor our environmental impact and work hard to minimize our greenhouse footprint. The health and safety of our employees, our communities and the environment are of paramount importance to us, and our value system ensures these are not compromised.

Numerous research studies over the years, by Alcoa and independent experts (like CSIRO, university researchers, independent consultancies, and Government departments) have shown that our operations are in keeping with Australia's strict environmental guidelines, and our sites and their emissions are safe for our employees and our communities.  To read some of these studies, click on the links to the left.
