Earthwatch 2010 – blogging from the field

Find out why Alcoa is an Employer of Choice for Women ...

Alcoa of Australia operates the world’s largest integrated bauxite mining, alumina refining, aluminium smelting and rolling system. We are part of the primary aluminium production business. In WA Alcoa mines bauxite from the Darling Range that’s then refined into alumina. We export some alumina, and the remaining is sent to our two smelters in Victoria where it’s made into aluminium. Alcoa also operates rolling mills in Victoria and NSW, as well as Australia’s largest aluminium recycling facility.
