INFORMATION SYSTEM CONSULTANT - Maintenance

Due to an internal reorganization, Alcoa’s Regional Information Services group requires an Information Systems Consultant to manage the Enterprise Asset Management module within the Oracle e-Business suite. This role is the interface between the Australian users, the technical support groups and the global applications management teams

The ideal candidate will:
·        be tertiary qualified in a relevant IT discipline,
·        have project management experience,
·        have systems development experience (ideally with the Oracle
         toolset),
·        have experience with technical support / management of plant
         maintenance applications (not necessarily Oracle) and/or other
         Oracle modules.
 
Significant interactions are required with locally based staff together with colleagues in North America and India. As this is predominately a technical management activity (rather than being 'hands-on'), the role requires appropriate interpersonal skills, relationship management skills and cultural awareness.
 
The role involves:
·        Developing systems plans and budgets which align with
         maintenance business plans,
·        Planning, negotiating and setting priorities for application work for
         the maintenance business area,
·        Understanding system needs, prototyping potential solutions and
         implementing agreed solutions,
·        Initiation and management of projects,
·        Ad hoc consulting,
·        Ensuring eAM module stability, maintainability, security and
         performance,
·        Managing third party applications and integration,
·        Managing offshore services to ensure the timely delivery of
         system support, maintenance and development,
·        Coordinating upgrades/releases/patches to the eAM module.
