PRODUCTION SUPERINTENDENT - Suface Mining, Near Perth/Mandurah

 An outstanding opportunity exists for a Production Superintendent at our Huntly McCoy Minesite.

 Alcoa operates the 25Mtpa Huntly surface mining operation supplying bauxite to Pinjarra and Kwinana alumina refineries. Huntly Mine is situated in the Darling Ranges north of Dwellingup, 45 minutes from Mandurah and an hour from Perth. Employees live locally in these areas (typically the Peel, Serpentine-Jarrahdale and southern Perth coastal regions), so this is a residential role. The mine runs a modern fleet of earthmoving equipment.
 
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role is primarily accountable for plan and budget formulation and delivery of daily, weekly, monthly and annual tonnes and grade to our refineries. Supporting the role is site based planning and survey department, geology staff, business improvement consultant and EH&S staff.
 
The position is responsible for all day to day production functions including safety, environment, people, production, equipment management, budgeting and cost control, planning and the training and development of employees.  Additionally the position will provide input into and implementation of the strategic plan and direction of the minesite. 
 
Reporting directly to the role are 6 x crew supervisors (supervising approx 140 Mining Operators on continuous shift), a Projects foreman, a safety resource and data management administrator. 
 
This is a key site leadership role. The successful applicant will be a proven leader who can improve the business through thorough analysis, identification and implementation through good change management processes that involve people.
 
Experience as a leader in a mining environment is a necessary requirement for this role with demonstrable success in all areas required for this position and in particular safety and environment. You will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and provide direction to all levels of the organisation.
