The Alcoa Huntly Mine is located in the beautiful Darling Ranges, 80 km south east of Perth and only 50 km east of the coastal resort city of Mandurah.

An opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join the team at our Huntly Mine. 
 
As a Mechanical Engineer you will play an integral role in supporting the mining operations and maintenance. In this role you will identify long term opportunities for improvement through a focus on equipment reliability, application of capital and expert assistance. You will also provide single point accountability for engineering support on a range of short and long term problems and improvement initiatives. 
 
As part of the Engineering team, you will play a key role in production optimisation, by applying reliability engineering principles to improve equipment performance and solutions to equipment problems through failure analysis down to root cause using industry standard problem solving techniques.  You will also be analysing data and providing advice to the operations team to ensure that life cycle costs and equipment performance are optimised.
 
To ensure your success in this role, you must possess a tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering.  Previous experience in a mine engineering environment is essential and a particular focus on reliability, knowledge of Crushing, Conveying and Stacking equipment  will be highly regarded. The ability to communicate at all levels is critical.  You must be able demonstrate your commitment to protection of the environment and to the health and safety of yourself and others. You will be self motivated with a desire to learn new skills, and have a sound track record in pro-active problem solving.  Your use of initiative and a desire to continuously improve business performance will be utilised in this dynamic team environment.
