ABS MANAGER
KWINANA REFINERY, Australia
We currently have a vacancy for an ABS Manager at our Kwinana Refinery. The primary purpose of the position is to provide leadership and strategic direction to the location lead team so they can achieve site wide operational excellence through the development and deployment of Lean Manufacturing Methodologies.
The incumbent will receive strategic direction from the WAO ABS Manager and will be accountable for driving the deployment of the WA Operations strategic ABS direction at the location.
The role will require:-
- Coaching and facilitation of lean manufacturing / continuous improvement methodologies to achieve operational excellence
- Develop & execute the location business improvement strategy to attain specific business improvement objectives.
- Provide expert advice, coaching, training and problem solving expertise to the location management teams on the deployment and implementation of lean manufacturing concepts to all aspects of the business
- Carry out regular audits with the lead team to determine the health of systems and facilitate the development of actions to address any issues with the deployment and sustainability of the management systems..
- Lead business improvement and problem solving activities at all levels in the organisation
- Train and coach the line management and ABS Consultants in the practical application of all Lean manufacturing tools and business improvement techniques
- Ensure the location is completing regular Operational Excellence Audits and all improvements to management systems are aligned with these protocols.
To be successful in this role the incumbent must have excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to coach the location’s leadership team to embrace the concepts of Quality Management / Lean Manufacturing and apply them in all aspects of the business. You will also possess advanced problem solving skills, sound interpersonal and influencing skills and an understanding of team dynamics.
Line management experience, expert practical knowledge of the application of Lean Manufacturing concepts to business improvement and advanced coaching and influencing skills should enable the incumbent to advance in this position.
