POWERHOUSE CO-ORDINATOR
KWINANA REFINERY, Australia
An exciting opportunity exists for an Operations Coordinator in the Powerhouse at our Kwinana Refinery.
In this leadership role you will be responsible for coaching and developing team members to reach their full potential, guiding the team to achieve its’ challenging goals in all areas of the business and upholding very high standards of process/maintenance practices. You will enjoy meeting challenges and working with a diverse group to develop and implement strategies across workgroups. This position will initially be in a relief role with opportunities to also work on special projects. Some of the key requirements and expectations of the role will be to:
- Ensure that the Powerhouse operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner whilst also ensuring compliance with all mandated and statutory regulations.
- Achieve maximum efficiency of the Powerhouse operations by ensuring adequate technical, capital and labour resources available and coordinating the activities of these resources.
- Maintain an active focus on the development of a highly motivated team with particular regard to safety leadership and coordinate the training activities for team members to ensure compliance with standards and the ongoing improvement of skills.
- Contribute to the improvement and maintaining of standard work instructions and procedural documentation for the safe and efficient operation of the process and equipment.
- Highly developed communication skills are needed as this role will be required to converse with all levels of management and external contacts.
- Should be able to think “Outside the box” to develop improvement processes and not be constrained by traditional or perceived barriers.
- Actively pursue self-education by undertaking additional training and improvement processes. It is expected that the successful candidate will work towards a Diploma in Frontline Management if this is not already held.
The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, as well as strong orientation to teamwork and the ability to coach. Your highly developed team leadership and communication skills will be essential, as you will be required to lead cross site teams through change and implement strategies. You will have plenty of initiative and self-motivation and will thrive on working with minimal supervision. Ideally you will have a minimum of 5 years powerhouse experience or similar.
