Anglesea Power Station closes

August 31, 2015 Today, after 46 years, Alcoa will officially close its Anglesea power station and mine operations. Alcoa’s Asset Planning and Management group now manages the site's future decommissioning and rehabilitation activities.

Hazelwood Mine Fire Inquiry

September 15, 2015 On 31 August the Hazelwood Mine Fire Inquiry Board delivered the Governor of Victoria its findings into opportunities to minimise fire risk at the Anglesea Mine for the 2015/16 summer season.

The final report issued by the Board on August 31, 2015 concluded “that Alcoa has either implemented, or is in the process of implementing, a range of fire minimisation strategies that are sustainable, practical and effective.”

Alcoa Anglesea Power Station Mine Work Plan

July 13, 2015 A mine rehabilitation and closure plan is being developed by Alcoa in accordance with the process detailed in the current endorsed Mine Work Plan which will be reviewed by the Earth Resources Regulation Branch of State Government.

Alcoa Community Consultation Network (CCN) meetings are an opportunity for two-way communication regarding issues that are important to Alcoa and the local community.
