Peter Haanschoten
Vice President - Finance
Peter Haanschoten was named Vice President, Finance, Alcoa Power and Propulsion, in 2009, and serves as a strategic partner and member of the APP Leadership Team to develop and execute the APP business strategy.
Mr. Haanschoten joined Alcoa in 2004 as assistant controller European Mill Products located in Geneva, Switzerland. Following this assignment he moved to New York as manager, financial planning and analysis, for the Global Rolled Products and Hard Alloy Extrusions, and Asia Group; and, subsequently, manager, corporate strategy. In 2007, Peter joined Global Hard Alloy Extrusions business unit as its controller—now Alcoa Forgings and Extrusions—where he was instrumental in driving the business unit’s results and growth efforts. He also served as controller for Alcoa Oil & Gas.
He has 16 years of finance experience in both banking and industry, working for Citibank, Dow Chemical, and Philip Morris. His roles included treasury, credit, FP&A, mergers and acquisitions, and strategy in Latin America, Europe and the United States.
Peter graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in his native Colombia and obtained an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business where he majored in finance and strategic management.
