Weight Savings
Advantages of lighter wheels:
- Increased loading capacity. If a truck's maximum loading capacity is used, the payback on Alcoa wheels can be two years or even less.
- The lower unsprung mass reduces wear on suspensions and shock absorbers.
Fuel savings due to the reduction of mass can be up to 2.5 percent.
