Bi-Polar Extreme Racing Victorious at Baja 500
Congratulations to Dave and Chris Creagan, drivers of Bi-Polar Extreme Racing, for taking the Protruck class victory at the 2008 SCORE International Baja 500. The team navigated their Protruck through grueling rock sections, hills, washouts and long sand stretches to take the checkered flag.

Bi-Polar Extreme Racing ran courageously but Baja is always a treacherous place. Twenty-five miles from the planned pit stop at mile 207, the team suffered another flat. This time without a spare on-board. Dave Creagan managed to navigate his Protruck, with three tires and one Alcoa forged aluminum wheel with no tire, through the remaining twenty-five mile stretch at speeds exceeding 87 miles per hour.

“Alcoa should be proud of their stuff. I would never have believed we could rally that far on a rim in those kind of conditions. I thought the race was over for us,” stated Dave Creagan, as he pulled in for fresh tires and fuel at the mile 207 pit stop.
Jay Leno Takes Delivery of Dodge Challenger SRT-8 Fitted With Alcoa Wheels
It takes a very special vehicle to be included in the Big Dog Garage collection owned by NBC Tonight Show host, Jay Leno. Add a Dodge Challenger SRT-8 to that list.

Jay Leno recently took delivery of one of the first production examples of the new 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT-8. Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) #004 rolled off the assembly line and into Valley Dodge in Van Nuys, California, where Leno took delivery.

Alcoa has worked with Jay Leno on several projects, including custom forged aluminum wheels for his turbine powered EcoJet that launched at SEMA 2007.

Since Alcoa is the original equipment supplier for the twenty-inch wheels fitted from the factory on all Dodge Challenger SRT-8’s, Jay looked to the company to supply a custom set of the wheels treated with Dura-Bright® technology. This patented wheel surface treatment continually resists brake dust, dirt and road grime, allowing owners to maintain their vehicle’s appearance with minimal maintenance.
