Lamborghini Murcielago Reventon
Alcoa Wheels has worked closely with Italian car maker Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. as the exclusive original equipment wheel supplier for its latest super car, the V12-powered Murcielago Reventon.

The car’s styling was inspired by the Lockheed Martin F-22 jet fighter, and Reventon is the name of a legendary Mexican bull from the 1940s. Lamborghini plans to sell the Reventon for nearly $1.4 million each so the wheel has to offer a premium appearance with the performance to match the 650-hp super car.

The forged Alcoa wheels offer a unique design finished in Lamborghini Black with real carbon fiber “winglets” attached to the face of each wheel. Each wheel has been designed and engineered for high strength and weight savings to complement the driving dynamics of this amazing car. Alcoa supplies directional-specific, five-spoke 18x9 front and 18x13 rear wheels forged from one piece of 6061-T6 aluminum.

Shelby Super Snake and GT500KR
Alcoa Wheels has partnered with Shelby Automobiles to provide custom-designed forged aluminum wheels with Dura-Bright® technology for the 2008 Shelby Mustang Super Snake and King of the Road (KR) models. The new 10-spoke forged wheels are provided with Dura-Bright® technology, a proprietary surface treatment that provides nearly maintenance-free benefits.

“Alcoa Forged Wheels is a vital member of Team Shelby,” noted Gary Patterson, VP-Operations for Shelby Automobiles. “Both the KR and the Super Snake have really cool looking wheels. If they didn’t, they wouldn’t be Shelby.”

Patterson added that the forged aluminum wheel also gives Shelby the opportunity to reduce unsprung weight, which, in combination with their strength and durability, provides the KR and Super Snake with more responsive steering. One-piece forged manufacturing also allows Alcoa to increase strength while reducing weight by more than 20 percent over a comparable cast aluminum wheel.

Alcoa’s Dura-Bright® technology provides a wheel that is almost maintenance free. The proprietary treatment penetrates the aluminum surface to become an integral part of the wheel itself. Alcoa wheels with Dura-Bright® technology resist peeling, cracking and corrosion.

Alcoa Wheels recently announced an extensive wheel fitment program with TechArt Automobildesign to include the new Porsche Cayman, Boxster, 911 Carrera and 911 GT3. All wheels also fit the Porsche series cars.
