ALCOA WHEEL SURFACE OPTIONS

Dura-Bright®Alcoa Dura-Bright® Technology Wheel Surface Treatment
Alcoa’s Dura-Bright® technology is a patented wheel surface treatment that provides sophisticated style and appearance with ease of maintenance benefits. It is not a coating or a finish, but a proprietary surface treatment that penetrates and reacts with the aluminum thus becoming an integral part of the wheel. The revolutionary process resists peeling, cracking and corrosion. In fact, Automotive News recently awarded Dura-Bright® Technology as a winner in the prestigious 2007 PACE (Premier Automotive Suppliers Contribution to Excellence) Award competition. Click here for more information on our PACE win.

Alcoa wheels with Dura-Bright® technology continually resist brake dust, dirt and road grime allowing drivers to maintain their vehicle’s appearance with minimal maintenance – just with a little soap and water. Dura-Bright® technology is especially appropriate for today’s vehicles that offer large brake package upgrades generating higher amounts of heat and brake dust. The innovative surface treatment provides a unique appearance and helps ease wheel cleaning and maintenance. Owners of Alcoa wheels with Dura-Bright® technology will find that even a heavy rain will often wash off much of the road grime and brake dust. Heavier deposits can be washed away with little effort.

Finally, each Alcoa forged wheel with Dura-Bright® technology is engraved with an icon to identify the wheel as being treated with this innovative wheel surface treatment.

Chrome FinishAlcoa Premium Chrome Wheel Finish
Alcoa offers a premium chrome finish on many of its wheel styles and sizes.  A chrome finish provides a mirror-like appearance to complement the look of many of today’s vehicles.  Chrome finish also offers maintenance benefits with some ease of washing.  However, special care should be given to durability in off-road or winter driving conditions.  For drivers that prefer a chrome wheel, Alcoa premium chrome finish wheels offer a popular appearance option.

Polished Clear CoatAlcoa Polished Clear Coat Wheel Finish
Alcoa uses a two-step surface finishing process to develop our polished clear coat wheels.  First, the forged wheel is polished to a smooth and attractive appearance.  Then a premium clear coat is applied to protect the aluminum.  Alcoa offers polished clear coat wheels in many styles and sizes.

Alcoa forged alloy wheels with a polished clear coat provide additional levels of durability and ease of maintenance.  A clear coat wheel offers a similar appearance to a polished aluminum wheel without the need to polish the aluminum.

Ploished FinishAlcoa Polished Wheel Finish
These are the wheels that started the revolution for Alcoa.  After inventing the forged aluminum wheel, Alcoa then polished the aluminum to a deep shine.  You will find many of our Classic light truck, trailer and SUV wheels available in a polished finish.

A polished aluminum wheel offers a brilliant shine that is durable for rugged use.  Many off-road and motor sport enthusiasts prefer polished finish wheels for their grueling driving demands.  Even after a hard day on the trail, Alcoa polished wheels clean up well.
